A NEW Monster Taming Light Novel Series

A monster‑taming epic with the armature of a political bildungsroman.

Across a world barely stitched together, billions of hominids from over a dozen Walks of Life across the Homo genus have chased the boundless wonders of Vahmrohs for millennia—magnificent, geometric creatures that mirror the appearance and abilities of real‑world taxa.

Vahmroh Tamers devote their lives to that wonder, crossing the land, sky, and seas, facing one another and the greatest of challenges in seeking to understand Vahmrohs and the forces that shape them. Through their bonds with their partners, Tamers uncover the world’s deepest mysteries and their own, pushing the limits of what can be achieved in a place where the extraordinary is only the beginning.

Every Tamer carries a Personal Eco Trader, or PET for short. Fashioned from whatever a Tamer can find or afford—carved from stone, forged from steel, whittled from wood, shaped from clay, or pieced together from scrap—every PET is one of a kind, reflecting both the Tamer who made it and the journey it was built for.

But taming has never been open to everyone, as the Four Great Pillars have spent centuries clawing for control of tamership and, in turn, the world itself:

-The privileged hoard rare Vahmrohs, PETs, and influence behind walls of wealth and legacy, locking out anyone who can't afford entry.

-Outlaws reject society and take what they want through violence, theft, and fear, thriving on instability and disorder.

-Sentinels patrol the line between protector and enforcer, preserving the peace while treating every stranger as a potential threat.

-And an ancient way—older than the other three combined—champions the belief that taming belongs to everyone, advancing freedom, and fostering bonds.

This is a world too vast and too fractured for one story or one protagonist, as its people—daring, clever, gifted, and hardworking—carry inherited histories of diaspora, displacement, and defiance. Some serve the powerful, while others wish to burn everything down. Some want to save the world, while others follow their own path. And there are those who refuse to be classified at all. You'll watch as their journeys of ownership, identity, found family, and collaborative freedom unfold across a sweeping shōnen serialization filled with joy, hardship, and tragedy.

For those who grew up catching, battling, and trading monsters with their friends—and for those doing it now:

Welcome, Tamer.

This series is released by Totem Jou Publishing (TJP), a Baltimore-born collective of fewer than ten creatives rooted in the city’s arts district. TJP creates surreal, anime-inspired, boundary-pushing adult fiction and guides each book from raw manuscript to finished object entirely in-house—including writing and editorial development, cover and interior design, illustration direction, ebook formatting, and production coordination. For every title and product, TJP collaborates with local illustrators, designers, photographers, videographers, musicians, screen-printing shops, and creative hubs throughout Baltimore.

Authors retain full copyright of their work, while TJP holds distribution rights. The majority of profit from every sale goes directly to the author, and every collaborator is credited and compensated before TJP takes a share.
